Math Competitions
- Continental Mathematics League (CML). For grades 2 and up. 3 divisions: grades 2 and 3, grades 3 to 10, and AP (Advanced Placement). To participate in this competitions, it is not necessary to go through your kids' school, parents can organize a team themselves and serve as advisors on the team. However, if your kids' school does participate in the competition, then CML may not accept the teams organized by the parents. Therefore, if interested in having your kids participating in it, better check with your school first. - American Mathematics Competitions (AMC). There are three different categories: AMC 8, AMC 10, and AMC 12. Old AMC problems and solutions can be found on Math Resources , Art of Problem Solving, and AMC (AMC 8, AMC 10, and AMC 12) web sites.
- American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME).
- United States of America Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO).
- International Mathematical Olympiad.
- Harvard-MIT Mathematics Tournament (HMMT). This is an annual math tournament for high school students, held at MIT and at Harvard in alternate years. It is run exclusively by MIT and Harvard students. Past problems and solutions can be found here.
- Texas A&M University Math Contest. For middle schoolers.
The 18th annual contest will be held Saturday, November 21, 2009.
- Math Olympiads Online for Elementary and Middle Schools.
- MathCounts. For grades 6-8.
- Math Pentathlon. For grades K-7.
